I'm still deciding whether or not I should sue him for this

Yeah, that scary scene where he makes those little children march through their classroom should be enough to convict him for life.

Personally, I prefer to call him The Governator.

I just realized that while this is GOOD because it makes it even more fun to make fun of Californians, it is also BAD because it may motivate more Californians to leave their state and come here to Washington. A state where we have no government that you'd really notice.

Does that mean that here in Massachusetts we can replace Salt Lake City hero Mitt Romney with Matt Damon?

I can't make fun, really; my town voted down a tax increase to fund, um, schools (Art & Music programs, you know...frivolous stuff), police, the fire department, brush pickup (which means we get to take our own leaves, hedge clippings, and 'holiday' trees to the dump ourselves. I have fond memories of running into neighbors and friends at the dump as a kid, and the joys of throwing large bags of trash as far as you can, but it's inefficient and time-consuming). For a while we paid for trash pickup, which encouraged people to greatly increase the amount of recycling (pay for trash barrels/bags, but recycling gets picked up for free), but then someone dragged up the old by-law that said 'refuse collection shall be free', from before anyone gave a thought to the environment, so now that's been repealed.

I don't consider myself to be a tax-and-spend liberal; I just think you ought to think just a little bit about the long term, and keep Art and Music in the schools, and recycle, and ... ah well. I guess I should learn to be more selfish.

Or is it just a true expression of democracy? - in which case I'm all for some kind of benevolent dictatorship.

...as long as I get to choose the dictator of course. hmm. This could prove to be tricky.
