There are some words in the world that don't look like English.

During the high point of the Downes Age, they put Ming the Merciless in charge of designing California gas stations.

Pish-tosh. You're just being contrarian for the sake of it. Putting real thought into a made-up word isn't THAT difficult, but mashing the keyboard blindly and hoping that it'll possibly resemble something spoken by someone in some corner of the globe is flat-out lazy. Defending such laziness, Lester, is a cop-out... technically your assertion is true, but it obviated the point entirely. Neverminding the fact that the predominant language used here is flippin' ENGLISH..... anything created in this game ought to at least have the flavor of English and attempt to roll off the tongue with relative ease. Some of the words proposed recently left me feeling like I'd been trying to speak Klingon while chewing gum laced with allum. I've actually had more luck learning Pashto in recent weeks- more so than I have been trying to pronounce some of the words offered up here.

Imagine: A thousand Buddhist eyes staring at you from across a rice-paddy field, the zeal and hunger in their eyes. And one lifts his fist high in the air, raising the battlecry, "EMBRACE THE TAO!!!!" Then organized chaos ensues.

From the first post of the thread.

rules:

all words made up.
word creator picks winner.
new winner creates new word.
repeat.

One is not required to pronounce to word nor to make it resemble English.

To me, the beauty of this game is its surreal disconnect from etymology.
That is the modus operandi of the thread by now -- I say a precedent has been set.

When you take part and win, as I am sure oyu soon would, NightShadow, oyu can word exactly the kind of word YOU like.

#toddlerspeak of course finds its own use for words.
Why I did not give a precise definition.
Often, it will mean "Just wait till I can talk."

Pretty sure none of these words are actually being considered by Webster's so maybe we can take a step back and realize it's silly to argue about this. As the self-declared emperor of this thread (get it, emperor penguin?) I say let's get back to defining whatever absurd word is put in front of us.

Aalpehlheddrek - a prehistoric bird whose remains were discovered in South America. Scientists believe it is an ancient ancestor of the parrot with highly developed micmicry talents and a diet of enormous crackers.
