A troll who thinks he's funny, and is- but for all the wrong reasons.

Not to be confused with trolls who are funny for alll the right reasons.

fe-gam noun

A woman's legs, especially au naturel or lingerie clad, and cell shaded.

1337 amalgamation of Middle English "female" and Italian theatre argot slang "gams".

There is ongoing and vitriolic debate as to the genesis of this term, but the most widely accepted theories cite logs of IRC server undernet.org, channel #CuD (Cult of the Dead Cow) and #2600 (2600 club) circa October 1992.

03:32:24 (nEuRoMaNtIk) /me dies of priapism and moves to japan
03:32:50 (Strider) jesus, shirow's giving ninja scroll a run for their money

The identity of xXxTheVictorianxXx remains a mystery, however FBI IP traces have suggested Brian Lingerman, a Hewlett Packard customer service representative from Seattle, or Satoru Shinagawa, a Keio University anime student drop-out otaku in Tokyo. The Victorian was rumored to be a pupil and co-conspirator of Vladimir Levin -- the mastermind behind the world-famous St. Petersburg Citibank hack of 1995 -- until he broke ties with Levin and founded his own cyber-gang, "The Shina 7" (shina translating from Japanese roughly to 'coquet'). The Shina 7 never reached the notoriety and celebrity of Levin: their alleged soda machine phreaking, hentai website password cracks, and small-scale e-mail bomb schemes were deemed trivial by enforcement and the black hat community.

However, their biggest and final hack in November '92 of Bank of America for $375,000 was considered by many to be one of the cornerstone moves in aggrandizement of buffer-overflow, cross-site scripting and race condition attacks. The multi-faceted attack hacked into Bank of America's cash management system and transferred money to accounts in Washington, Amsterdam and Tokyo. The BoA PCs were reportedly left with "Hacked by The Shina 7" in 72 fuschia terminal font and a full screen animated gif of a lingerie-clad female anime character, later identified as Major Motoko Kusanagi from the Ghost in the Shell manga. The new system password had been switched to "#364%5", seeming gibberish, which white hat hacking experts later determined was 1337 for "fegams". This tragic flaw of detail illuminated the keystone for the FBI; "#364%5" turned out to be the code word for communication within The Shina 7, and eventually led to their unwravelling and downfall.

Motoko Kusanagi

A month later, the Sibilis virus, a mild-to-moderate worm security threat, hit the internet, and although it's creator(s) were never discovered, it was seen as almost unarguably the work of The Victorian. Believed to be named after the ex-noble, politician's girlfriend character Sybil Gerard in William Gibson and Bruce Sterling's novel The Difference Engine, the Sybilis virus was introduced initially through hentai videos from pornographic fanserv websites, Usenet discussion froup alt.sex, and various channels on the sexnet irc server. Sybilis spread through Windows Media Player or Quicktime, infecting and propagating by e-mailing itself with the subject "check out this ankle!" as the user watched the video, allowing remote takeovers and causing 'blue screen of death' fatal excpetions with error message "0000:FE6A1815".

"Fegams" was considered extinct and archaic by 1995 as the majority of that constituent cyberculture had moved on to become game developers, IT technicians and futurist essay and novel writers, but rumors of its usage persist sporadically. The most recent account was in March 2005 in Seattle at Sakura Con during a cosplay contest, where a male judge, in his critique of a particularly leggy cosplayer of Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop, referred to her "glorious fegams."

From The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, considered to be the fegam prototype.

"Milla's fegams are second to none at kicking the shit out of mook ass, and looking runway-stunning doing it." --Urban Dictionary

(apologies for going overboard, I had an illegal amount of fun with this.)

[bump]

I hesitate to hand the torch right back to TwiliteMinotaur, though it does seem rather unlikely that someone could beat that. Anyone care to wow me in the next 48 hours?
