Wes Montgomery -- MistyWe guitarists spend a lot of money these days searching for the perfect tone. Amps, stompboxes, axes, racks full of crap. Wes had it in his fingers.

The Nat King Cole Trio -- What Have You Got In Those EyesIf Nat's voice don't make you cry or fall in love or get woozy with lust, then you're officially a numb twit and the World won't note you were ever here. This is obviously for Sweet Hurts. She of the hyper-lovely captivicious peepers. Yes, still flirting.

I can't wait to see who you dedicate Nine Inch Nails's Closer to.

Ever since Splitcoil said his half-Caledonian, half-Cherokee coiffure looks like Pampas grass, I keep thinking of Dee Snyder in the Video for "We're Not Gonna Take It".

Soundgarden - Black Hole SunFor Split. Cause it's dark like some of his writing and well done like all of his writing. A Seattle band from back when they had balls.

Y'know, some would argue that Superunknown was precisely when Seattle bands lost their balls. Not me though; I love that album. Best thing that was ever dropped on my desk in school. Never listened to it, because the CD was scratched to shithouse, but I lost it for a while until it turned up in my brother's CD case the day before I flew out to Bangkok for the first time. Now, "Superunknown" or "She Likes Surprises" reminds me of salty-sweet orange juice hand crushed from street-vendors pushcarts, the pirate's cove of Panthip Plaza, elephants in the streets, the Sweet Home bar, and a new smell every ten feet.
