Anyone familiar with the Spanish Flu Epidemic of 1917?

Last update from ABC News was CDC not sure if viral or bacterial,....

"The Telegraph: reported a probable case in UK, ....

New York Times indicates Chinese had it in Ghangdong province last November...and it is getting less active there....

so on balance...no cause to panic yet - appears to be an outbreak not a pandemic....

However.....try and avoid catching it.

Isn't paranoia only when you think the worse, and it is only a thought....whilst if the worse happenns....it's called foresight.

The illness is known as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

Now days diseases have such antiseptic names: HIV/AIDS, MS, and SARS. What ever happened to naming them after their point of origin: "The French Pox", "The Hong Kong Flu", and "The English Disease". Is epidemiology now more PC or a victim of globalization?
