Was on a recent outing to Christiania with my job, but before meeting up with my colleauges at the Metro station, I really needed to take a leak. The Unisex pissoir was the only thing available.



Here's the interior - no reflective surfaces to capture my image...and the smell was retched, so I didn't even attempt.

It's situated above the channel, so when you look down the grate, you see the water below you.

Later in the day, I saw this public toilet in Christiania, but I didn't use it.

Just a couple weeks ago, I found myself cleaning a conventional porcelain toilet which people had still been using, even though there was no running water there. They weren't even flushing with a bucket or anything. Just letting it pile up and dry out. I ended up cleaning it with a bucket of water, a broom, and Simple Green. I had to take a few breaks. It smelled roughly similar to what I imagine the public restrooms at Stalingrad's 1950 People's Socialist Vodka and Cabbage Festival smelled like.

I recommended thermite grenades, but I was overruled.
