I know this has been done before, but think it was a couple of years ago: time for another run?

I was watching a 50th birthday special on Stephen Fry last night, and realised that he is one person with whom I would love to sit down to tea (low, high or even herbal) or a meal and just chat. He's phenomenally bright, hilarious and seems also very thoughtful and generous: the kind of person who would use his brilliance to make you feel smarter rather than dumber.

So how about it? Besides Bill (or my personal fave fantasy team, Bill, Jack and Bruce), who is that one famous person you'd love to spend some time with?

Do I get to poison my tea partner?

That would alter my pick significantly.

David Mamet. We'd talk about hats, of course.

Do you think he'd insist that his wife join you two?

I'd also like to have tea with Stehphen Fry, I think we'd get on.

Maybe Kenneth Brannagh and Hugh Laurie could come as well.

Obviously, Kari Byron from Mythbusters. (Preferably naked and holding a gun.)

I'd rather have tea with Morgan Webb or Olivia Munn, probably be disappointed though.

Carl Sagan, or, if not available: Zombie Carl Sagan.

Sartre would probably be an ass so I'd rather dine with Camus.

You'd have to get to Nietzsche before the syphilis and the incident with he horse.

From the top of a short list, it'd have to be Jane Goodall.

Oh, wait, I forgot!

Thomas Pynchon.

I think he's married to Melanie Jackson, so there you go.

Sir, I respect your opinion but obviously you don't live in San Francisco. You haven't been as lucky as I to have seen her at the armory.

Oh Stephen Fry totally. I met him once, briefly many years ago, and he seemed as charming and wonderul as he does on TV (And HUgh Laurie was with him.. I'd never noticed before quite how stunning beautiful his eyes are).
Krad and I were lucky enough to go see a recording of QI (if you're ever in London and they're recording, HIGHLY reccomended!), and I was smitten! I know quite a few people in my line of work who have had dealings with him, and no one ever has a bad word to say about him.

Who else? Hmmm. I dunno.. Dreams of wonderful people can be too easily dashed. I went to a reading / signing event held by Philip Pullman, and he just wasn't as warm as I needed him to be, and I've felt differently about him ever since..

1. My dead dad, to evaluate he's current political scene via his republican political views if he could be brought up to speed.
2. John Lennon.
3. Paul Wellstone.

Our constitution is in serious threat. And I am alarmed and have been for years.

Sorry for the rant.
