I think it's still a bit early, but if anyone is coming over for meats or whatnot, it helps to know the dates ahead of time.

1 July, Tuesday - arr. Amsterdam, Radiohead concert. I'm staying at the WTC, station Zuid/WTC. I have a three-day transit pass booked, which includes entrance to the big museums, and I expect to spend a fair bit of time acting like a tourist! First time in Amsterdam.

4 July, Friday - train Amsterdam - Brugge /Bruges to meet Wanderu! overnight in Brugge.

5 July, Saturday - train to Leuven/Louvain for Rock Werchter, Sigur Rós/Radiohead concert. Hotel in Leuven.

6 July, Sunday - train to Lille to meet my friend to go to the Main Square Fest, again Sigur Rós/Radiohead. Staying with my friend.

8 July, Tuesday - train to Brussels, plane to Berlin, Radiohead concert. Staying at a place off the Ku-Damm in Wilmersdorf. Hope to meet up with Hasa! and go to the Die Ärzte show on the 11th with him. In Berlin until the Sunday, then flying home.

I take it the second two concerts are for if you miss the first time?

Have fun. Eat some waffles and feed some marshmallows to the cat in Brugges!

This summer is a concert orgy, really. These four will double my Radiohead concerts seen. I can only imagine how jealous you must be, Lithos. Razz

Does the cat like marshmallows? I admit I'm almost as excited to meet this world-traveller of a cat as I am his owners.

Don't miss the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. It's got lots of his gloomy, pre-Arles work. revealing stuff.

Topless sunbathing in the Vondelpark, the Heineken Brewery, and some good quality Maroc in a cafe beside a canal should be a higher priority.

Oh alas, I don't go topless in public and I don't do drugs. I've already been to the Guinness brewery; can I have a bye on future breweries, please, given that I have only three days? Big Grin

This is a truely sad commentary on your life.

I'm a little Dutch girl dressed in blue
See the things I like to do...

Buy an ice cream and stroll though the Vondel Park, and see how the people live...

Buy a coffee or a beer and sit by the canal watch the world pass by... (See how the people live.)

Saying you've been to the Guiness brewery and don't need to see the Heineken Brewery is like saying "I've been to San Francisco, I don't have to see New York. Its more of the same."

Is the Heineken brewery the acme of Amsterdam's offerings? I offered no criticism, but beer and its creation is not a big interest of mine and I expect to be drowning in art rather than hops.

Save your pity, sir! a little modesty and limiting my consciousness-altering substances to alcohol has served me well. I'm not exactly a convent-dweller.

That's actually sad and boring. I would not even bother with it.

If you want to see something interesting, go see the Polders.

Despite your taste in music, I like you.

My summer holidays start the 12th of July, so even though many of your destinations are among the holiday possibilities, it seems unlikely we will meet. Fate conspires against it.

I just never saw the point of putting two grand down on a plane ticket, flying halfway around the world in cattle class, and getting shitfaced and hungover on beer with a label in a language you can't read, and pissing on the eternal flame at the local war memorial or similar. By careful observation and deduction, this appears to be the sole purpose of 99.97% of backpackers out there. If you're gonna black out and remember nothing, do it at home.

I here there's an awesome nude garden in Berlin that's a great place to have a camera nicked, according to my Munchenite mate.

Mate, you've got watch more Global Trekker. Sitting in your bedsit, watching telly all day with your three cats, waiting for nightfall to go out on the piss-and-pull with your mates isn't preparing you for the new-world-order.
