Wondering if I could kill several birds with one stone on 4th July in Bruges -- so much travelling though---

(or swat two flies with one fly-swatter-- as we say in Norway)

Tempted in Oslo

I did a very sketchy check the other day to get an idea of fares, and I imagine I'd be on one of the trains arriving ~14:00 or 15:00. Do you think I need to reserve ahead? (just for 2nd class)

Aisha: do it!

You only need to make a reservation if it's a special train (like the Thalys going from Amsterdam to Brussels). No need to reserve on regular IC trains (even the one going over the border). What route are you taking?

That sounds right. Be sure to ask for a Benelux Weekend ticket (which is a return ticket for something like €25), as it might be cheaper then paying just the one way fair.

That sounds like a really bad 80's Wham! concert tour.

edit: no, if the gig is the 11th then its friday. hmm...

tea rooms and museums sounds good.
remember at least one cool art museum from last time - the hamburg station museum? i know thats not right, but kind of close.

last time i was there we stayed in an etap, which was pretty cheap, and decent, but it was also so far to the east taht i needed that biggest map ever just to get a map that had the place on it Smile out kosmonauten alle way, which i thought was greatest street name ever.

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm going to see Radiohead play in Paris,Bercy tonight.

I didn't plan on going, but a €50 ticket for a long sold-out git is something I cannot refuse Smile

You can make fun of my schlechtes Babydeutsch when I'm there to give some tit for tat to a Canadian if you like Smile

Yay Remote!

Dates are: Radiohead (sold out) July 8, DA (sold out) Friday and/or Saturday (was just mailing with him on the weekend, and he said no problem to get a plus one on the list; perhaps I can get plus two?). Sad news is they're not playing "Yoko Ono" on this tour as apparently they overplayed it last time...but he said if they do play it anywhere, it will be Berlin!

My plans for Berlin are not many, aside from the music. I was booked in a tiny pension-type hotel off the Ku-Damm, but I stumbled upon a styling place between Savigny-Platz and Ernst-Reuter-Platz (is that the Reuters news guy?) for a v good price (not including breakfast though) and decided I'd rather be in the styling place. I was looking at some tourism stuff on the weekend, and considering getting the museum pass that gets you into all the Stadt Museums for €19 or something, I'd definitely like to go to at least the one with the Egyptian antiquities...maybe a day looking around Potsdam...maybe going to the Charlottenburg Palace (is that the one? one of those fancy-pants palaces). Also I'd love to tram around on the east side with Hasa, I never crossed the Wall last time I was there. If you had some time to play tour guide Smile
