This is one of my most favorite signs ever, from Muir Woods in northern California :

This is my 3rd favorite sign, found posted in a RESTARAUNT, again in northern California.

This is the BEST "mind the gap" sign I've ever seen in my entire life (again, in northern California).

Okay, last one, I promise.
I stole this sign from a hotel: _________________________________________________________________________________ "Her information was valuable, and the price was pie." -- Pushing Daisies |

reminded me of when i recently went to do something to a patient at work (i'm a nurse, for those who don't know) and noticed that the packaging on the kit i was to use had fine print announcing that it contained some chemical that was suspected to cause health problems and "known to the State of California to cause cancer." (i work on an oncology floor, even!) |

I imagine those signs were the product of some people saying "hey wouldn't it be a good idea to warn people if there were carcinogens around?" "Gee, yeah, that sounds great! There should be a law." So they go an create a law, little realizing there are carcinogens just about everywhere. Now California is littered with those signs, and if you tell people a building has carcinogens in it, they think, "Hey, big deal, so does every other building."

Unless that sign is on the floor, doubt it will be effective.

Judging by the smell I could have posted that in the Restroom thread.

"Rather than picking the flowers, let flowers bloom in your heart" And, maybe the greatest sign I've ever seen in Japan: |
