this is just a random thought, but... since we are all gathered around the books of Gibson and we all dream about talking to him... He said that he is one and we are many and frankly, I understand him... it's hard to have free-time nowadays... ok, I'm coming to the point...

Why not try to edit a list of questions that we really want to ask the 'Sensei' Razz ? we could each give 5 possible questions and vote to chose 10 among all of them... then propose Gibson to answer them on his site. Like this, we could share something with him, have our own "special" interview from him, without taking too much of his time...
What do you think ?

Sounds like a pain in the ass. And terribly slashdotty. I'd rather see him write about whatever he finds interesting in his blog.

I actually think this is a good idea. I'll submit mine after the reading on the 20th.

Sure, I've got 5 questions to start things off. I tossed in another 5 because people don't seem to be interested in anything but smug comments.

1) If you could collaborate with any author (live or dead) on a joint literary project, who would you choose?

2) When you're working on a book, how many hours a day do you write? How many words per day?

3) Of all of the different artists portrayed in Pattern Recognition, which one are you most similar to?

4) If the Nanofax from All Tomorrow's Parties existed, and you could pick one of your characters to bring to life, which one would it be?

5) If Blackwell and Molly Millions got into a fight, who would walk away?

6) When you're writing, boxers or briefs?

7) When you write, do you have an outline of the plot beforehand, or do you let the characters solve their own problems as you go along?

8) You've said that you wrote the two trilogies because you wanted to explore the worlds in those novels more. Are there any novels that you've read that you would have written more to if you had been the author?

9) If you had to choose an author to write you biography, who would it be?

10) If you got bonked on the head, and were only to pronounce one word repeatedly for the rest of your life, what would the word be?

Here's some questions for WG;

1. When is it acceptable to wear french cuffs, and when is it not?

2. Pleated or flat front?

3. Do you think the style of glasses worn by Micheal Caine as Harry Palmer will ever come back in style? Should they?

4. Do you prefer your shoelaces pressed or au naturale?

5. If you had a choice of food from any train-station in the world, what country would it be from?

6. If you were invited to meet the Queen during one of your trips to the UK, and all you brought was a black dialed wristwatch, what would you do?

-Turn down the invite.

-Quickly head off to Portobello Road.

-Wear the black dialed wristwatch.

-Huh?

7. Have you ever been hit in the face with a Duck at 250 Knots?

8. Have you ever had a chance to explore the maze of tunnels and hidden rooms under the permafrost in the Siberian Tundra?

9. "Mr. Gibson, what's in your pockets?"

10. Do you think Nigella is sexy?

Good question Martin. If Nigella had a forum, I'd be there, not here. If that answers your question. Wink

It's a geocities site of WG at a recent reading, wearing french cuffs. Geocities sucks, bandwidth-wise and is no-longer diplaying those particular images.
