A week ago I was on a trip with my photo club. We went to Turkey, Nevsehir province, the legendary Kappadokia for 5 days.
A team of 14, we rented two 9 sitter cars and drove there. 20 hours straight to reach our destination.

The meter on my camera says I shot 1200 pics that week.

On the way close to where we were going we passed Lake Tuz. One of the biggest salt lakes on the planet. Because of the season it was all water. In the summer it looks like this.

Nice. A look at Turkey is rare for most Westerners.

By the time we finally got to our hotel it was 9 at night; we were fucking exhausted. But the payback was the next morning when we woke up to face this:

Sorry Pauline, no horseys...
The thread title is from the etymology of the ancient Persian name for the region.
I didn't really see horses. My friends took the horseback riding tour one morning but I was strong on the 'not joining for that' camp.

Man, I lived and breathed Oddfuckistan for 5 days.... and I so wanna do it again in my life. You would not believe how green that land is. But we went at the perfect season for it too. Not too cold, not too oven-like either.
I got a nice colour on my face, an even better t-shirt tan line on my arms and a really magnificent sun burn on my right arm. That last one is pealing pretty well now; a week later.
At night you need a winter jacket. Of course I was the only idiot that did not do so. That's where my goretex shell saved me. I also purchased a blanket. that helped too.

Black Jacque, no Starbucks yet. I'm pretty sure they will in a couple of years.
This province lives off tourism and it does so pretty well. A LOT OF TOURISTS! really. 50% of them Japan.
Lots of Spain, US and India too.
The local vendors spoke more Japanese than they did greek.
