As far as I'm concerned, I prefer silent vice to ostentatious virtue.

Pointless post beware
Flood protection cannot help
Beyond inane set

Where there was one now
There are two following pace
Stereotype true

Headache settled in
When did I give into this
Monster left unleashed

Need the beast to slay
Patience gone; path left behind
I digress: Shut Up

radiant thunder, silent fury [There is always a pattern.]

Why do you bother?
Patterns predetermined and
Off to the distance

Sticking out its ugly head?
My mind left aghast

Alex and me, writing together. It's for a school assignment, and the prompt is 'Change'. Alex's take on it is 'mood change', and she has some interesting ideas about rhyme (check the scheme) and structure:

Falling Leaves/Changing Moods

Colors of leaves, falling and swirling
Influence how I feel and think
So much beauty everywhere
But the dying leaves start to stink

Summer was full of fun and green
Sun and splashing in pools
Sadness was hardly ever seen
But it was all over too soon

Maybe it's just 'cos we look
Forward too much
Instead of just living now
The future's a crutch
We borrow our pain from tomorrow's
Cold weather and such

I'm really not very sure why
Moods change with the seasons
It can't just be the length of the days
There must be other good reasons

Winter is too many months of ice
And being stuck inside
I guess some people think it's nice
But it brings my mood down again

Spring is a whole different thing
The snow melts away
It makes me want to sing
The green returns and grows
The wedding bells begin to ring
And our moods rise with the new sun

my little girl emailed me this yesterday. it'll be her 7th birthday on sunday.

Dear Oh dearest Mother,
I really can't wait till,
We shall have some fun together,
All day, all having fun.
It shall be
a change in age,
For me
Now just you wait and see
The surprises I might just do this year with you.
Love
Your Secret Admirer.

Greener grass

Young, beautiful and rich is
our prerequisite for success,
& whoever subscribes to this
can take the blame for all that's been wrecked.

Youth is born dieing,
and beauty's a mask.
The only thing left
to live for is cash.

Now youth and inexperience
is more valueable than truth
and we know where that'll lead us
yet we follow the pipers flute.

By the time we see the pattern,
our ability to change things is gone.
A new generation took over.
A new troop of monkeys do wrong.

Hey!!!
You Kids!!!
Get off my lawn!

As far as I'm concerned, I prefer silent vice to ostentatious virtue.
