Oh, I dunno...I've had a few Irish whiskies that had some snap.

Redbreast comes to mind. Lots of peat in that one. Very yummy.

*makes note about Springbank*

I don't know if we even get that here. I probably couldn't afford it if we did. (Ah, looked it up, you can spend more than $700 on a bottle of that! (32 year old) we have it at 8, 10, 12, 15, and 32, and a couple of froufy finishes (Tokaji and Marsala, aging casks I assume?). Anyway, with the cheapest 26er at $95, it's safe to assume it won't be my Friday evening tipple tonight--property tax is due Monday after all.)

The farthest I've gone with Irish is ...Bushmill's Black Bush and Jameson's 12 year old is it? and that Redbreast is rather nice. The BC liquor stores don't give you a lot of choices. OH speaking of, those of you coming to Vancouver may wish to bring duty free from your point of origin for nightcaps as our prices are shocking compared to most states I've shopped for booze in (except Washington, where they seem to tax you to death just like here).

My palate isn't ready for Scotch yet, nor is my pocketbook. I dated a chap who had refined tastes in single malt and he had me taste a few. I can see the attraction, but it's not for me. When my numbers come up I can see spending many years in a daze trying them all out though. Big Grin

ETA: This discussion was a sign from God: when I got to the liquor store, they were all out of the regular Jameson's which is my ordinary. Rather than going north with the Bushmill's I grabbed a bottle of the Redbreast. It's really quite tasty, with a little water.

Cheers!

Not drinking quite yet, but very much looking forward to getting out of this class and into any situation that involves beer.

Purchased over the weekend only to discover no tonic in the house. So we're getting acquainted over ice and Martin Denny.

Well, I'm old enough to be over the problem of rebelling against my parents. But if it was the case... I should be drinking this:

and smoking that:

This white tea with pear, in one of those groovy little nylon pyramid bags. It's not as peary as the tea at the Fish House in Stanley Park though, which is quite luscious.
