I envision this thread primarily for print media, multi-media, and movie quotes (not song lyrics 'cause of the "Favorite lyrics." thread)

ya, ya, ya kawayama, you and I have been through that little discussion before.

Thankfully, as finals draw near and my presence here becomes less and less, I take comfort in the fact that Word comes with spellcheck. Smile

oh, and I'm not a Troll. "it is definitely a case of unrequited love." My record here on the WGB since February 4, 2004 when looked at dispassionately, clearly shows greater or lesser degrees of positive contributions.

Have I pissed off some members here. Yes.

Fine, but I'm convinced (perhaps delusionally, err, DP/FP) that my presence here is in fact appreciated, if only at times, by some members.

"He had studied with fervor and with vanity nearly every page of Lord knows what Communist manual; he made use of dialectical materialism to put an end to any discussion. The reasons one can have for hating another man, or for loving him, are infinitie: Moon reduced the history of the universe to a sordid economic conflict." Jorge Luis Borges, The Shape of the Sword

I know Peter says almost the exact same thing when he sees the hypnotherapist... Perhaps it's in Fight Club as well?

A couple of the many quotations printed and posted around my cube at work:

"Stand all together along the rope laid out for you by Allah, and be not divided among yourselves." Muhammad, THE KORAN

"It's not a bad bad system." -one of my many bosses, a direct quote from a meeting when he was telling us about a new IT system we were being burdened with.

"Do not do unto others as you would they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same." - George Bernard Shaw [via Gromit]

And Splitcoil, what did wind up happening with Charles? I take it that he didn't actually go postal.

Changing day jobs, fathering another kiddo, and having a massively self-indulgent artistic crisis of epic proportions. Not necessarily in that order. Glad to be back...

Charles went away a long time ago, only to resurface in a place where I end up dealing with him from time to time. He's much better suited to the new job. Happier, more productive, and a more interesting person there. It was a happy ending all around, actually. And he still hasn't shot anyone, at least as far as I know.
