Funny - spelling aside (no offence, DS), I think that is one of the few times I have seen "monies" used correctly.
Not that I'm an expert, but I remember cringing when I heard a (now ex-) co-worker say "Your monies are in your account". Funds, sure, but "monies"? - this was in reference to an individual's casino account, not a State/Provincial treasury, etc. |

The usage doesn't come up in day-to-day discussions, much - outside of funding for countries, or states within countries, etc - I think. I picked up the meaning from watching/reading news about various budgets for our provinces, etc. |
