Spoke to Mum.. said the "family secret ingredient to perfect scones" is a teaspoon of baking powder.. this is her recipe

8oz SR Flour and half teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2oz butter
Teaspoon Baking Powder
5 fluid oz milk

Though, to add the milk slowly, as might not need all of it, as it mustn't be wet.. depends on weather and other random factors apparently!!
Can add 2oz sultanas, or leave out sugar and add 3oz grated cheddar

the chancer is laughing because his boss asked him whether he was in today, whether he wasn't going to be on a holiday? he told his boss to look at his holiday form, if he hadn't signed a day off for the chancer then he wasn't on holiday. this is the same boss who came looking for him when he disappeared to play golf and there was no sign of him all day. i think the boss had a valid point and the chancer missed it, but thats why he is the chancer.

of course, the boss should have said "well, yes, but i checked your holiday form the other day and you didn't have one - so where were you?"

Just neard from my neice.. she didnt' do as well as she'd hoped in her GCSE's (I guess the equivalent in US is a cross between a high school diploma and SAT's), but having spent last weekend there, it doesn't suprise me as she is under alot of stress at home I think.. But, gonna find a pressie to send her to show her I am proud of her what ever results she got..
