The good thing about a sister with a baby is that you can use the "Mothers with young children" parking spot when you go shopping together.

Nothing personal, but I hate those spots. Part of my distaste for the institution of motherhood Wink

I'm guessing those kind of parking spaces are commonplace in the Great White North. Cos they're not, here in 'Murrica.

Lunch Time!

Mmm... this Eggless Tofu Salad I picked up at the grocery store
is really good. Ingredients: Tofu, Roasted Red Peppers, Green Onions, Veganaise, Pickle Relish, Dijon Mustard, Fresh Dill, Sea Salt, Black Pepper, and Tumeric.

Now for my apple.

1. It's the last Friday of the month, which means it's cake day. Time to go over by the time clock and see what variety we got this month. Last month was pineapple-upside-down. Mmmmm.

2. Marsh: what kind of apple?

3. What about spaces for fathers with young children? ERA NOW!

AC, I don't know if you've noticed, but the world isn't exactly free from sexism yet.

Let me call out my rabbit army.

Pink Lady (organic). The bestest variety of
apple ever.

Yeah! Or maybe a bike rack for fathers with
young children. Those trailers take up some
space, you know.

The rabbit army says it's OK to break rules that are unfair, especially in the IKEA parking lot.

Hey, easy now, little lady. No need to lecture.

Yes, except for Braeburns.

Apples preference list: Cortland, Braeburn, Fuji. Haven't tried the Pink Lady yet, because the name scares me.

Giant radioactive rabbits say "whuh whuh whuh".

Fear not, for it is a good apple. A little less
sweet and watery than those you mention, but not
as tart as a Granny Smith. Really a good all round
eatin' apple.

I'd say that's a little less frightening, but
once you see a 10 story tall rabbit saying it...

*stomp* *stomp* *stomp*

Pauline: you oughtta think about recruiting some desert commandos for you rabbit army down here in Phoenix. I've seen jackrabbits as big as cocker spaniels.

And I thought rabbits didn't have vocal cords. Did the radiation cause mutation or something?

Rabbits do make sounds, but they're really soft. You have to get down at snout level to hear them.
Happy rabbits grunt "whuh".
Angry rabbits growl.
Content, sleepy rabbits "tooth purr", a quick brush-brush-brush sound with their teeth.
Rabbits in pain scream.

I'll be brave and try the Pink Lady. Hopefully, it won't be a repeat of the Gala disaster.

Nope, can't quite do it.

What was the gala disaster? Or just the fact that they're not very good?

I like granny smith and fuji, personally. But I way prefer peaches. Sometimes, I miss the south, like when I'm staring at that sick pile of baseballs they pass off for the two days of "peach season." Prats.

Yeah. Peaches in the midwest are terribly sad things.
