I think the traditional connection between wine and cheese is related to the origins of cheese in a series of drunken dares.

"Hey! Let's eat the one with mold growing on it and see if we get sick!"

Really? That takes some endurance. Remember to pace yourself.

You might want to pack some "energy" drink. Wink

Sorry, my communication mistake. I don't speakle any Egrish.

What I meant was, how would you know what the real thing tastes like?

Funny you should say that. The real tragedy of this situation is that there is no beer in the house.

Edit: Referring to Marshdrifter's last post, of course.

No offense to tofu burger eaters. Razz

San Jose Japan town has a small family owned tofu-ya that makes tofu that is unlike any I've had. The taste is sublime. They also give away Okara by the humongo bagful.

Oh, and Countrymen, if you don't all get out and vote, I'm personally gonna track you down and kick your ass.

Just because I don't eat meat now doesn't mean
that I never ate meat.

So you say. I've been looking for it, but haven't
found any yet. I'm curious about trying some Mock
gyros, if possible.

Ah, how nice to come from a country of
procrastinators. I think I'll put off voting until
November. Smile

Anyone in the Minneapolis area ought to go to a little Vietnamese restaurant called Saigon and check out the tofu Lo Mein (or appropriate Vitenamese analog, haven't been in a few years) with mock duck. It's so good it actually made me black out for a few minutes.

There's a restaurant about five minutes walk from here called Ume no Hana (Plum Blossom), which specializes in tofu dishes. That is, you can get meals consisting almost entirely of tofu. And none of it pretends to be meat.

It's pretty good, but a little expensive.

Come to think of it, that would be a good place to take vegetarian visitors for a meal. I'm glad I thought of that. Smile

The bike shop has promised that my bike will be done today. I try not to get my hopes up, because something always delays this process; a part gets shipped a day late or in the wrong size.

But I get my hopes up anyway.
