Actually, I rather liked her Pern books, at least the ones I read. Pure escapism. But then again, I was a teenager (although not a girl at the time). Not sure how I'd see them now.

You'll be fine. Just stay away from Anne McCaffrey. Especially if she's standing beneath a huge chandelier or something.

Set me straight on this. "Cons" are where really nerdy people go to party and hook-up.

Edit, who (from my reading) is medium-cool, has no trouble finding a good time, and gets more tail than the toilet seat, is going to a Con? Confused

Read Deep Secret by Diana Wynne Jones if you want the lowdown on cons, told from a perfectly factual point of view. *nods*

lol (at your distorted impression of me), the new girl goes every year and she got me to agree to it. I even agreed to let her dress me as Marv from Sin City and she will dress as Nancy.

I am pretty sure I was naked at the time.

Somebody a lot smarter than me once told me to never refuse an invite to something new. I have found this to be great advice so I will go and have a good time.

The gunfire around us makes it hard to hear. But the human voice is different from other sounds. It can be heard over noises that bury everything else. Even when it's not shouting. Even when it's just a whisper. Even the lowest whisper can be heard - -over armies... when it's telling the truth.

I was under the impression there where hordes of: short fat dudes with bad skin and questionable hygiene walking around, in food-stained clothing, kneading 10-sided dice in one hand, perpetually shrugging a bulging schwag-bag full of “graphic novels” back up onto their shoulder, and picking their nose with the other hand; to Ben-wah certified, mostly naked, costumed hot chicks.

Are you going with the band-aids over the eye? I think I would have asked how she was going to replicate the scars before I agreed to anything.

She is a makeup artist and is using silicone to build up the bridge of the nose and the chin and do the scars.

Band aid next to the eye, not over it, and after reading this thread she might just cut me to create the scars.

Thanks!

Yeah she is doing that again, as well as Nancy from Sin City and one or two others. She does a really cool Harley Quinn too.

I don't want to think about all the shit I'll have to carry upstairs.

Big Grin

Not in that way no.

In fact as a rule I don't dress up for anything but a funeral.

Also "a lot" is two words. Always.

So the latex for my get up is in and my hair is now longer than it has been in years in prep for a flat top haircut. This better be worth it, I am actually taking my clippers to Atlanta so I can cut this mess off once I am done.

I am going to have to dip my whole face in Vaseline to keep the latex from ripping every bit of facial hair out as well.
