Sounds good. I wish the Q&A/Discussion had gone on longer. Things were just starting to roll when the B&N person shut it down.

I thought i might just catch the last couple of questions; I was very surprised when I got there around 8:20 to see the line aready formed. I make that just about 45 minutes from soup to nuts. Reading/discussion signing things usually last about 90 minutes. I wonder what the hurry was?

I was a the Vroman's bookstore signing in Pasadena and the whole session also didn't take much longer than 45 minutes. So I guess it's standard for Gibson.
I enjoyed it, though. I got two books signed (wish I had brought more) and even had a little chat with him about the Dutch translation of PR.

Here's a photo I took. Unfortunately, thanks to my shitty digital camera it's not a good one.

Thanks for posting that picture El Gringo. It put me in a sharing mood. A friend of mine took this picture at the Madison, WI signing.

Was that, for some reason, the Borders folks had hung little cardboard Michelin Men up around the reading space, thereby making it almost impossible for Cayce to attend without profuse muttering of the "He took a duck in the face at 250 knots" mantra...

Ye Gods and little fishes, that does seem so antithetical to the essence of the book. I would ponder what their point could possibly be, but I surmise it's just standard wise-assery.

I took a picture of the cake they had made. Had a *very* silly picture.

Just out of curiosity: any other board members make it out? Nobody identified themselves as such to me...

Shadoth. It's funny cuz it's true.

Well Justy, let's see that cake, then! (A cake, that's so darling. I always want to bake for signing parties, but here in L.A., noone will eat sweets publicly.)

The cake was cute, as well as quite tasty. I think the Borders was a bit overwhelmed by the attendence, not really knowing what to do with the quantity of people.

I was surprised in that they were allowing up to 4 items to be autographed. The presentation and reading were pleasant, I got to ask a question (mind the gap), and he was very pleasant in line for the signings.

My first meeting with Mr Gibson, and hopefully the first of several to come.

Ok, so I signed into this whole WGBoards experience, and then was promptly overwhelmed by school stuff (some of which includes Science Fiction Lit. Class, with a nod to WG's "Burning Chrome", just the short story, not the whole collection). I just wanted to mention: I'm going to NYC on Saturday, books for myself, and a teacher in hand, along with a possible camera, and I was wondering if anyone from the boards is going to the Columbia University bookstore signing, or if we had a thread devoted to it.

We demand talking robot heads.

If I were to think about this in Panther Modern terms, I'd have to say that it would be wise not to call the Riot cops! Wish I'd been there. DC Looks happening...Buffalo Soldier CB Out. /nt
