I was a the Vroman's bookstore signing in Pasadena and the whole session also didn't take much longer than 45 minutes. So I guess it's standard for Gibson. I enjoyed it, though. I got two books signed (wish I had brought more) and even had a little chat with him about the Dutch translation of PR. Here's a photo I took. Unfortunately, thanks to my shitty digital camera it's not a good one.

Ye Gods and little fishes, that does seem so antithetical to the essence of the book. I would ponder what their point could possibly be, but I surmise it's just standard wise-assery.

Shadoth. It's funny cuz it's true.
Well Justy, let's see that cake, then! (A cake, that's so darling. I always want to bake for signing parties, but here in L.A., noone will eat sweets publicly.)

The cake was cute, as well as quite tasty. I think the Borders was a bit overwhelmed by the attendence, not really knowing what to do with the quantity of people.
I was surprised in that they were allowing up to 4 items to be autographed. The presentation and reading were pleasant, I got to ask a question (mind the gap), and he was very pleasant in line for the signings.
My first meeting with Mr Gibson, and hopefully the first of several to come.

Ok, so I signed into this whole WGBoards experience, and then was promptly overwhelmed by school stuff (some of which includes Science Fiction Lit. Class, with a nod to WG's "Burning Chrome", just the short story, not the whole collection). I just wanted to mention: I'm going to NYC on Saturday, books for myself, and a teacher in hand, along with a possible camera, and I was wondering if anyone from the boards is going to the Columbia University bookstore signing, or if we had a thread devoted to it.

If I were to think about this in Panther Modern terms, I'd have to say that it would be wise not to call the Riot cops! Wish I'd been there. DC Looks happening...Buffalo Soldier CB Out. /nt Christopher J. Bradley Noise Control Publishing www.noisecontrolpub.com
