He did have some great answers, didn't he?

I don't suppose you remember the wording of the first question, theminx? It was such purely pretentious academ-ese, that I had to stifle a laugh. But I'm shallow, that way.

Alas, I do not. I wasn't sure that those were all actual words, truth be told Wink and I was vacillating between laughing and rolling my eyes. Razz

Probably my favourite question actually was the WG/NS cage match (Stephenson no question! much as I love WG)

Heh - so I wasn't the only one stifling the laughter. :-)

I can't wait for the podcast, as I will be able to relive the event, and enjoy all of the Man's excellent responses.

I had a sheepish grin at the first question because I had assured the friend that I dragged that "It won't be filled with those nuts from the board." Throw in the 'deathmatch' question on top of that...anyways very enjoyable night.

Hi Rambaud. Glad you enjoyed that as well.

Not sure about the guy asking the first question - he seemed way too serious asking something like that (whatever the hell it actually was).

As for the other question - had to be a Stephenson fan.

Thanks Konnierad. Razz

I think the first guy must have come straight from a poli-sci class or something. WG's answer was priceless.

The other guy might have been inspired by some of the 'who would win if...' on this board. I don't think he was serious, but a bit of a waste of a question considering the answers he gave to real ones. In any event, fandom no doubt took another blow amongst the unintiatiated.

Yep - Poli Sci would be a good guess. Gibson couldn't have given a better answer.

On another, Gibson related note, for local Wigbers:

I was reading on Shaw TV's* site that our host was to have been on their show Urban Rush last week. Did anyone in Vancouver happen to catch that when it came on? Bit of a long shot, I know.

I've emailed them to see if it will be re-broadcast some time.

He's from our own version of that American Idol show, I'm afraid.

Yes - though I know nothing more than that.

I'm reluctant to admit I even know about the show, but it's hard to miss the blaring ads on the network that broadcasts it.

*smacks forehead* DOH! Didn't even notice that at first, when I pasted it in. Between that, and resisting the urge to correct the spelling, I totally missed the joke.

Smooth.

Point and laugh at yer leisure. :-)

"The festival sounds like fun."

I dropped by the THIN AIR offices on Arthur Street a couple of days ago and they were quite pleased at getting WGB for the three appearances, as well they should be. It's a worthy cause and should be a lot of fun. If any other WGBrs plan on going to the Winnipeg appearances maybe we could gather somewhere -- at the King's Head maybe?
