In the thread list for the "News of the day & Current Issues" the set of page numbers for each thread does not appear in the "Topic" column. For comparison, in this, the "Announcements" section, the Topic heading does contain page numbers (for this thread the Topic appears as "If you have Discussion Board problems or comments Page 1 2 ... 18 19", the "Page 1 2" bit is missing in the News section of the forum).

Another thing that I just noticed. It looks like you can't make posts with attachments in the Announcements part of the forum.

So it's not just me. Ok then. It's not a problem if it affects everybody. Although it would be nice if it got fixed.

Yup. Every day, all the time. Nothing but trouble with that for the past three weeks or so.

Thought it was my interweb company's problem, or my kludgy computer's fault. Maybe not.

I am not getting any edit, delete, whatever symbols when I post. Nor on anyone's post. Um, what gives?

Which browser are you using, Anabel? I have all kinds of different quirks and behaviours on different ones; Mozilla/Firefox seems to also 'lose' such icons or they become inactive. Netscape loses all formating. Explorer keep icons active but starts slooooowing down until becoming unusable. Only Safari on MacOSX so far hasn't exhibited much weirdeness.

Can you see other images? Have you checked to see
that yours is the latest version of Firefox?

Uh no on the Firefox check. I did update earlier this year.
Now I've got new weirdness in my bottom horizontal "tray." Gonna reboot. This sucks, but I know it could be worse.
Later/sooner...

Geez Anabel, you're going down in flames.

Threads are slow to update unless someone has just
posted to them, so it's possible to have different
post counts in different threads.

As for your avatar, I'm not sure what you're
talking about.

hello?
Fuck, yeah! I'm back.
Although, I've lost the posting menu. Now gonna go try and figure out what dasterdly thing I hit that sent me to limbo.
Man, that last post was truly bizarre. I would love to learn how THAT happened.

What appears to have happened is that I blocked images WG from the smiley face. I do not recall I was EVER concerned about blocking them in the first place. Still, it was blocked, once again until now.
Has anyone a clue as to how my upside down/backwards post occured? I assure you, I have zero patience for that kind of game. Has anyone seen this before? I am utterly mystified and want to avoid that place in my future.
Thanks for any help.

Testing my edit button: My avatar has returned.

As has other avatars, with animation.

However, post numbers are static. Really.
This is so weird.

Anabel, whenever you see the static post numbers or an old avatar, simply post something in the thread where it has occurred and the problem will disappear.

Once you realize this solves your problem, perhaps you won't speculate about it anymore.

I could go into the technical details about why this is, but quite frankly it would be boring.

The board's been a little funky this evening. At
one point I got a 500 error on it, so I dropped an
enote to the address provided
(webmaster@williamgibsonboard.com) and that
bounced.

I just received an email from theEtruscan. He
can't log in at all. He can lurk but the board
acts all funky. Oddly sized fonts, menu weirdness,
and the like.
