It does get re-broadcast tonight, at 8:00 p.m. est. I think that they're also, at least partially, available as podcasts at onpointradio.org

Is anyone else having trouble getting this broadcast to play?

It never connected for me with Media Player, so I switched to iTunes and it worked okay. Hopefully you'll have better luck when they make it available as a non-live stream.

I did get in my question, though -- it's at the very end.

I did. Have still to listen to it, as I left to work.

Thank you, Audio Hijack, for timer recording.

Hi there, first post here.

I'm planning on going to the signing today at Stacys in downtown SF. Anyone else going to be in the area? May want to grab a drink afterwards...

Also, I'd appreciate anyone chiming in with opinions on how large the crowd will be, as I'm ditching work and I'm curious how long I'll be gone.

I lucked out during the P.R. pr tour; it was snowing that day, and only ~25 people, if that, came out to hear him.

Compared to the Bruce Campbell signing, though, for If Chins Could Kill, half an hour is nothing; it was 2 hours easy. He'd get bored too, though, and would get up and play games with the crowd to keep them entertained.

Someone brought in a HUGE movie poster, framed, of Army of Darkness. It was nuts.

Oh, wait ... have I gone off topic? I don't know, I guess I'm a serial Bruce junkie.

Oh, wait ... this isn't the Bruce Sterling Board either.

(I'm still waiting on my cross-country SC package -- does it show?)

But, but, that's like...let's see... a quarter of a YEAR away! I think I'm gonna cry.

Why does Penguin spurn the author's very hometown? I move to Vancouver and he goes off and reads in all the places I used to live? What have I done to deserve this? What's Seattle got that Vancouver hasn't got?

(Not that I'm taking it personally.)

Hint Hint. CBC's Studio One Book Club, like what happened with last time with "Pattern Recognition". I seem to recall they had a studio audience or something.

http://www.cbc.ca/bc/bookclub/williamgibson.html

Just like he did a "This Is Not A Reading Series" (TINARS) in Toronto last time too.

He'll be on CBC's book club on September 6.

Vancouverites (or those willing to travel!) can enter for a chance to win tickets.

Hi WGboard and yes, we're currently looking for studio audience to attend the reading/talk on Sept. 6. There'll be lots of chances to ask questions, and he'll read two excerpts from Spook Country.

Maybe someone will even come w/ laptop and nimble fingers, like last time.

btw, there's about 30 mins of audio from an interview WG gave me last Wednesday, over on the Georgia Straight's site. The audio quality's not great - this was my first attempt at recording and posting. But for the completist...

Hope to see some of you on Sept. 6. Cheers, John

Just picked up Spook Country from Pages bookstore in Toronto. There's a "This is Not a Reading Series" sticker on the front cover. The person I talked with there said WG will be doing a reading on Sept. 21 at the Bathurst United church - doors open 7:30pm. It hasn't been officially announced yet. Apparently it's his only Toronto appearance. And I'll be on a business trip that week. %&$#!

The boyfriend got me a copy of Spook Country today (because Borders, whose suppliers suck baws, didn't have it in when I met remotespook).

So, I have a ticket for the Edinburgh stop of the tour as remotespook sold me his. Hurrah! What a lovely man.

Of course, when one's friend edits a wee independent sci fi and fantasy magazine, the last thing that I should have said was "Can't see you in the pub 'cause I'll be in Edinburgh at the WG thing." as the next question is always "Do you think we could get an interview for TBD (the magazine)?".

I sometimes write fiction for TBD, but I've never done any interviewing. I think it's probably too short notice to ask, but then who should I ask? Should I send an email to the publishers?

I figure that someone here might have a suggestion.

Ta muchly.

That's not too bad. Wish he was coming to Minneapolis, though.

My wife went to a Stephenie Meyer signing (haven't read her, but seems to be a sort of Anne Rice study ...) on Friday night and she waited in line for over 3 hours behind 500 or so with wristbands ... Meyer was apparently signing any of her books, though - multiple copies, too.

Hey, I recognise your photo from somewhere - LJ or Last.FM icon? Either you're one of my neighbours on Last or on one of my friend's Friends Lists on LJ ...

Oops, this is not threaded. Sorry. I was referring to TheMinx.
