We just got back from the discussion/signing at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge, MA (sponsored by the Harvard Bookstore). It went very well! He read chapters 9 and 10, then took questions from the audience. It went on until 7PM, at which point there was a long signing line! I'll post some pictures later, in the Picture Thread!

Gibson at Cody's Books in Berkeley!!!

Am I the only one who started at the guy behind the bookshelf on the right side of the stage, hoping he'd improvize a puppet-theater ?

Anyone do a head count for the 8/18 reading? I was in the third row and I was guessing 100+ people. I was lucky enough to have a very early number and didn't have to wait long in the signature line.

The reading and Q&A seemed like a blur.

Hi Richard - Did you ask any questions?

Oops, this is not threaded. Sorry. I was referring to TheMinx.

All of the above, possibly; handle varies as giggleminx. Are you you everywhere? Razz

Mostly. :P

Sometimes icons aren't unique, so I thought maybe "you" was "someone else". I mean, right now I'm apparently Gord Downie.

No. I had three prepared.

Like most people, for whatever reason (fear of being first?) I didn't put my hand in the air right away when he asked for questions (that odd few seconds of nearly total silence). After the first or second question I started to raise my hand, but he never picked me.

I was able to attend this evening's event in Brookline, the reading for which was in the Coolidge Corner Theater(re?), a great Art Deco venue still holding on by its thumbs -- about 200 people, according to the bookstore's estimate.

No pictures this time, although I was in a prime location -- I was going to shoot a nice grainy frame or two from my phone, but since we had to turn those off (including his truly's) I was out of luck. He did his reading from my copy, though, so I got his 'eye tracks' in addition to his signature.

No invitation out for drinks, though ...

I'll be along to the London 28th Aug. date. Will any other WGBers be there? Anyone fancy meeting up for a drink?

Yes! We demand that Penguin send Tiger68 to London for the signing! Surely he could be sent as a technician (I assume he is a he).
