*LOL* Very funny.

I'd probably ask how he got there and why.

I would akt like I wouldn't recognize him. Unless he offeres a conversation, of course.

If I was someone famous, I would be paranoid about people not recognizing me.
I would wonder if they actually didn't know me, or just pretended.
It would mess with my head.

I'd rather have them give me a knowing "hello", and then leave me alone (in my ivory tower).

Too true. When I lived in LA, I would see celebrities all the time. I think that maybe they prefer it if you just pass them by and not act like a scary, rabid fan.

Wow! Now that's vintage Gibsonia. Judging by his voice, I wonder if he even remembers making that? Big Grin

wow, bill macks on the green clad hippy girl, stoned out of his tufted gourd. this is like something out of one of his stories.

edit: the fact that there is a film record is the part that seems right out of his books, not the macking on the hippy girl bit.

Thanks for the link to Gibson's thoughts on it. It certainly gets pretty post-modern when you layer in the idea that he was performing as a hippy was expected to, talking about sex as hippies were expected to, while a woman he didn't know attached herself to him to perform for uniformed news reporters. In some ways it's no wonder he turned out the way he did.

quote:
Sex doesn't really have any importance attached to it. I think it's really not differentiated from eating or sleeping or breathing.

Or, to put it another way, 'It's okay, but it's taking the edge off my game'. Thank you Molly Millions.

Thanks! I've been waiting for that. It's just in time to be slipped into my thesis before I hand it in next month too.

Maybe... If I do put it online then that won't be until it is approved, which may be months away yet, but I may be turning it into a book, so I wouldn't really want to spoil all the potential readers out there by giving them all of my ideas!

I've gone through all seven novels (and most other things!) by Gibson and I've found a lot of common ground in the way that he writes and it all reveals a very different side to his early works. I think it should be a very interesting study for any Gibson academics. It will, of course, be mind-numbingly dull for anyone else!

I wonder what they look like.
An assembly of old men, with grey beards and British accents?
