Is it really necessary ? None of the character names are the same - I have no real idea about any plot similarities, as I have only read hints about this up till now.
My surprise it how DIFFERENT the proposal is to the final product. OK, there is a crucial surprise in SC that is revealed in the proposal, so DON'T READ IT YET! There's enough unused material in the proposal on which to base another novel! And I also seem to remember reading at least one of the excerpts from WG's blog that doesn't appear in the proof copy of SC.

I like the idea about the warblogs.
Gibson mentioned in the interview, that it seems to be kind of a ritual. Most of the plot in the proposal is ... ermm ... Lets put it that way, the finished product is much more thought through ... complete.
