What a coincidence. I have made some fotos in Berlin which look just like the cover of the US Edition of Spook Country:
Have a look.

The f means "Firm". A builfding is sturdier than a building.

"The builfding is a new weapon in the war on terror, and it will change the face of architecture as we know it" the head architect of World Trade Center III said at a press conference yesterday, marking the beginning of the third reconstruction of the two towers after they were destroyed again by a terrorist bombing last September, killing over twenty thousand.

"The skeleton of the buildings will be constructed primarily of solidarium, a new material over twice as strong and temperature resistant as steel, yielded by recent advances in nano-tech. Along with a denser girder grid and emergency inflatable pads that act as floor-by-floor "airbags against gravity" in the event of a floor collapse, the builfding is much more resilient to terror attack than the average building. They will take about five times more man-hours to construct and cost about the same difference, but we all know this is a small price to play for the safety of our loved ones."

We..ell - featureless buildings. A lot of those photos appear to be of gravestones.
