~ Years of being sent free books by publishers have made me something of a jaded bastard. But I uttered an involuntary 'sweet' today when I opened a package containing an early copy of Spook Country, William Gibson's new novel, which is due out August 7.

You know what this means guys, right? The ARC's are out!!!
time to hit the used book sites.

Yup. Been buying stuff through that site for a couple years. The Vestal book either hadn't been listed on it back then, or was only on offer by sellers who expected overnight payment in Nigerian schillings and shipped only via UPS Brown.

Akk. Don't joke about Nigerian schillings. How long do we wait before the book reaches Afrika?

Sigh. My other name for myself on the WGB was always going to be "Cargo Cult". We do just have to wait and see what floats ashore here.
