Uh. Mmhh... no.
I hope it's an early concept.
What bothers me the most, is the way the title seems to be receding... back... visually, gives me the idea of a whispered phrase...

Wait, maybe that's the idea.

Still... that Batman-like Gotham skyline... ah, don't know.

Damn. I may have to collect editions: the American edition so I can read the damn thing, and the UK edition because it's so puuuuuurdy.

It even feels like a MoM photo...

That's what I said.

Those darn Brits get all the cool book covers. Not that our opinion counts to a large soul-less publishing conglomerate, but we should petition somehow to make this the US cover too.

Now that UK cover is much better, IMO. If only they had chosen one where the guy wasn't slouching...
Ah, any MOM pic would have been perfect.

The bolivian version is great. Here's the Apple-fan one:

Greetings,

the simplicity of this design suggests an early '70's reprint of a Stanislaw Lem novel, with kicky Brit accents...very mod!

Not 'a novel' any longer.

At least on amazon.

They listened to us!? That's... scary.

Well, anyway, I applaud this outbreak of good sense. It was probably Trogdor's "not a Igloo™ cooler" thing that did it.

Amazon have a new version of the UK cover artwork as well - the new blurb at the bottom quoting the Independent (daily broadsheet newspaper) does not seem to be an improvement over the February version without.

yeah the whole inclusion of quotes thing is a strange deal. its too much of a replacement for trust and just a decent summary of what a book is about.

Nope, I live in Aberdeen Scotland. I spend about 3 months a year in San Francisco, though. This year I went to San Diego to visit a friend who goes to uni there. We drove to TJ for a day. Weird place.

I lived in TJ for 6 months.
"Weird" doesn't even begin to describe that place.

"Insane", now that's a start....

It seemed to me that the peddlers were part of a unified human/merchandise cloning experiment. All these blokes with the same wares shouting the same stuff at us, haha. I bought a Chivas football and one of those masks, but nothing else.

I guess I didn't see the real city. I've been told it has a pretty ugly underbelly.
