The container competition. Twilite Minotaur won as well. If you want details, you'll need to use the search function.

I've heard that Second Life isn't as highly poulated as people claim, is that true?

Even if I had any interest in Second Life, I wouldn't be able to answer your question, as it's so vague and unverifiable. In any case I only visit Second Life when I can stalk Gibson.

What I heard was that most of the poeple who are subscribers log on to Second Life for twelve minutes... a month.

It was a clip on a cable channel about the fact that Second Life isn't the Second Coming.

I think that Second life is a sort of "Apple Newton waiting for some US Robotics making the idea viable"...

Nobody (at least nobody sane) stands waiting up to 10 minutes to see the world completely built... not to mention the glitches, client bugs, poor security et al.

I have never played a video game in my life (except some early space invaders thingy, just to be social with my fellow bar drunks), but the question I ask is:

Anyone remember Pong?

Consider Second Life as the Pong of communal VR.

I remember that I played poing in 1976 (I know it was not 1978 because at that time I was fascinated by those Texas Instruments and HP calculators that had "constant memory" and were able to read magnetic cards) while I was in RJ visiting some relatives. A colonel friend of our family went to US and brought an Atari console. In 1980 the mistress of calculators was HP41-CV with up to 4 memory expansion modules, magnetic card reader and thermal printer. Not to mention the Sinclairs, the TRS-80 "compatibles", the apple "compatibles".

And I agree with you. SL is the pong of communal VR.
