I have been away from the board for a couple of years, so I apologize if this has been brought up before (a quick search didn't turn up anything).

Recently I started wondering whether the concept of the 'footage' in PR has been influenced by Jandek. There are a lot of similarities, including Jandek's anonimity, M.O., the online fan community trying to piece together clues, and the eerie quality of his cover photographs.
