I finished the book in italian and i'm reading it again in english -- this time i decided to realize some footage inspired by the book. Only stills for now, but i'm workin on a short video too, which i'll post later. Anyway, when i think of the footage i imagine something like that :

a lonely beach

some girls walking

she's waiting for him

i tried to realize them thinkin of them like moments of a segment (not of the same one, though)

i hope you like them,
ice9.

The first pic is great, but the last pic is absolutely amazing. It's beautiful, really, and as soon as I get home I'm saving it on my computer(I'm posting from school at the moment).

The second pic would probably be better if you made it a little lighter so that the subject was a bit more evident.

When I think of the footage, I always pictured it as very surreal... perhaps with some of the video shot in sepia tones, but with brighter sections of colors intermingled to give note to certain areas in each frame... I think the word that comes to mind for what I'm thinking of is "ethereal", if something like that would even be possible to apply to a film's description.

they were dancing on that beach -- it was not so lonely, at that time -- hands in hands, her eyes looking at him, while their bodies were doing crazy circles on the sand -- he remembers all that, but he can't remember her eyes too well -- the same undetailed and ruined look of all of his memories and thoughts, now that the...

Ice,

Are these hand painted or post-processed photos? Either way, they are superb.

They're not quite as I imagined them, but I'd imagined a bizarre, washed-out, near-monochrome version of the effect used in Bugsy (1991) which betrays an embarrasing poverty of imagination on my part.

Keep 'em coming.

I do not see the as the Footage, mainly because each of us has a different idea of the Footage, and no single form will satisfy everyone. Mine is hyperrealistic and at the same time washed out. And full of camera movement.

But I will join the others in saying that they are extremely attiring. They bring up a yearning to be on the other side of the image.

...then he woke up, early in the morning -- still dark outside, noises of cars escaping the city -- he took a look at the wall near the bed -- and it was like she was there, her eyes down to a lost memory -- only 5:00 am, and his mind was already trembling...

they're stills from my own short movies, or sometimes they're photos, painted and post processed

thanks again for the response,

I agree with your view of the footage but whats attractive about these pictures is that they are what I imagine the stills of the footage to look like.

hello filmy,

i see that there are no credits in the album you created, and i think mr.schenck (for instance) would be quite upset of seeying his images there without even giving him credits (he is a professional too, so it would be even more upset)

and i would like to see at least my name and the title of the images, too, on my shots

anyway, good idea creating a photoalbum for the footage related stills

let me know if you can fix the credits thing Smile
