I love this company; they've been doing a bang-up job. And their translation of Stephenson's Cryptonomicon is actually as deeply funny as the English version.

Translations, huh. Wonder how they did the parts about Russia? I bet it turned out more ironic than it was meant to be: it's always funny to read foreigner's take on your own country. Should the tralslator make certain corrections due to that factor, maybe?
Oh I think this one is a pure coincidence... Hmm.. Although, u know - maybe not: if you look up Tsoy in Google most of the links contain Kino. If that's what WG did, he might have thought it would be a cool prank to name a chapter Kino.
Funny transaltion error: In the Russian version, the Buzz Rickson jacket is for some reason described as made of leather (origilally it's nylon). Later on, a hole is burned in that jacket, with a close-up of melted nylon on the edges. Two pages later it's leather again... Funny. Although on the whole the translation is pretty adequate imho.
Well, it's not even checking, just pure logic. I mean, burning holes in leather, with a cigarette? Wow... There are other small inconsistencies, like black caviar becomes red, Phu Cat becomes some "shit-eating cat", etc. What I mean by adequate translation is that the rythm, the mood, the intonations, the ideas - all the important stuff - is communicated pretty well.

Yeah, this guy also writes his own stuff, mystics with techy elements - unusual style, but pretty far from Gibson (softer, I would say). PR was his first translation, as far as I can tell.
Then he aslo did "Half asleep in frog pajamas" by Tom Robbins (dunno about the quality, it's not in the stores yet)
