And it's written by Rudy Rucker.
Go HERE to read his review. I love the picture: If your not outraged, you're not paying attention! |

... and so true. I also think it's neat that one of the first posts here at WGB:MB (aka fff) was about Rudy Rucker. The ARC was great, and I've already pre-ordered the Book itself.

I subscribe to Wired so I got this issue a couple weeks ago and this is actually the story that led me to this forum. I really had no idea he had a book coming out.

Thanks for posting that URL, Igpajo. Rucker hits it spot on!
I'm especially grateful to Rudy for the word "apophenia," which he defines as "the spontaneous perception of connections and meaningfulness in unrelated things." I noticed myself falling prey to apophenia (which I call "the Dr. Bronner Effect") in writing The Difference Dictionary (a guide to the Difference Engine, online at http://www.sff.net/people/gunn/dd/). Fortunately Steve Brown grabbed the text away from me before I merged into complete oneness with the universe. Eileen Gunn The Infinite Matrix http://www.infinitematrix.net/ |
