"Today a quarter of Russia's economy is owned by 36 men". Lets see- Brezhnev had a Dacha. And two personal drivers. And he brought a BetaMax. So it is the same, right? Right?
Not sure if you're keeping score, but this is the effect of "trickle down" economics. They have a flat 13% income tax. You might be able to argue that Russia is prosperous right now, but you can't argue that if only they were more pro-capitalist, starting now, they would finally be prosperous.

My point was that comparing the bushy eyebrows guy (as corrupt AND incompetent as he was) to these new rich is like comparing a third rate rate mayor who uses his car to go shopping during work hours to a bank executive who steals millions and gets away with it. But he must the most to blame for putting them in charge, right? Damn him, too.
"36 people own..." Damn. Boogles the mind. I live in a country with an economy about 1/200 of Russia's and if only 36 persons owned 25% of it they would be filthy rich forever... "Trickle down"? What the hell is trickling down in Russia? Misery?
