That name has a very creepy feel to it (probably why I like it.)
I know that there was an 80's band by that name (remember the museum sequence in Ferris Bueler?) Back then a lot of bands had names that had creepy references, so I was wondering (or half remembering) if there wasn't some KGB program by that name? "When I win the lottery, gonna buy all the girls on my block a color TV and a bottle of french perfume." |

The name reminded me of musician John Cale:
his early NYC avant-garde band (before The Velvet Underground) was The Dream Syndicate; his second or third album was The Academy in Peril. (And Gibson is a fan, hence "All Tomorrow's Parties", the Velvet Underground song.) |

Dream Acadamey did the excellent song, 'Life in a Northern Town' in the 80's which was sampled a few years back for Dario G's 'SunChyme'..

Ws Burroughs- "The Job"
The Dream Academy was a place to learn new anti state ways of thinking, mental martial arts to defeat the tyranny of language and destroy the word. "Storm the Reality Studio and re-take the world..." Any volunteers? //////////////////// Bueller... Bueller? |
