I have spent the last 3 hours searching for a post on this Forum that I swear I ran across yesterday. It uncovered the site where the Director of Blair Witch is going to be distributing his next work-in footage format only avail via the web. Anyone else read this post? Anyone know the address to the site? Am I dreaming up this whole thing? Smile

We are naturally resistant to viral marketing here. Or that I would like to think.

The currently functioning search function shows you lie to us...

Although there are some resemblances, this project for me is the footage's opposite.

Commercially oriented, minimal technical use (compared to a search for a perfect image that reality cannot provide, therefore turning to rendering), the location as another character.

And I just dislike Myrick.

If you are implying that I posted this to support strandvenice you are wrong. I honestly could not find the original post via the rather pathetic search engine that is part of thus community app.

After reviewing the site, I agree with you that it is the antithesis of the footage (or at least how I envision the footage).

In the future you may want to consider chilling out a bit. This was the first time I posted to Gibson’s board and if you are any indication of the type who participates, it will be my last. . The tone and manner of your post makes you out to be a paranoid ass.

So, you make a first post in a new thread, asking about some "cool" item, and making a spurious claim. Then you answer yourself, with no comment on the supposedly "cool" item.

If you have encountered viral marketing before, that is just the way to act.

And I was cool. I even commented on The Strand, so other readers knew what was on the other side of the link. The search function is working now, so you probably saw it somewhere else. But misinformation is another marketing tool.

Then we have Mr. Myrick trying to make money (again) out of the web, and you call me paranoid? Do you know the story of The Strand, and what a failure it was in April?

Ignorance is no excuse.

Psycho,

Where in my original post did I say or imply the word cool to the link I was looking for. I was simply asking for a little help.

Your an ass!

Left speechless by that show of eloquence and rhetoric, I can only say that some people consider creating a new thread, rather than using an existing one, a mark of interest.

The fact that a Jeremi Karnell was in marketing and his job description is:

Jeremi is one of the founding partners of One to One Interactive, helping to launch the firm in 1997. During that time, he has overseen the creation of the firm's marketing services group and its position as an industry leader in online direct response & brand marketing (focusing on Rich Media, Broadband/iTV, Mobile, E-Mail, and online promotional tactics).

was something I did not intend to comment on unless you were rude.

It does not mean you are guilty, it just gives some doubts on your motives.

Yes, I am in marketing. No, I am not associated with or have anything to with StrandVenice (a post that was presented to this forum back in March by someone else).

Unlike you, I am happy to provide a public profile associatted with my career. I have nothing to hide.

Before I started my career, I was a Gibson fan. All I have done was simply ask for help. All you have done is ridicule and question my intentions. Even after I agreed with your pov associated with StrandVenice-it sucks.

Your a class act.

As Thalassicus indicated so succintly: Google?

And I did not write for a living about searching beyond Google. Three hours!

But I forgot the words of wisdom:

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity

It was beyond my suspension of disbelief, so I looked for a conspiracy that was not there.

This is my last post to this very unfortunate thread.

My reasons for showing such interest (i.e. searching for three hours) in the StrandVenice work was not to promote it or to compare it to Gibson's footage.

Instead, I was hoping to add whatever perspective it provided to research I am conducting to identify if there is a real and growing trend in the Alternate Realty Genres.

The first experience I had with AR was in the gaming category. I played EA's “Magestic” and found it to be very entertaining. After that experience, I loosely followed the emergence of the Alternate Reality Game Genre via such sites as argn.com.

However, I want to gain some altitude from the gaming and uncover if other genre’s (i.e. literature, cinema, etc.) are leveraging the mass adoption of interactive co

I am still positive you saw it somewhere else, but in March you get only:

The real existence of the armaz.ru domain.

"The Kiss" as footage.

Outside March there are some references that may interest you, although the only Blair's witch link is to the Wicked Witch, with assorted goodness here.

I would even say that you might have seen it here or here (search for strand if you are in a hurry) or even here...
