Yeah,I dunno. Josh Hartnett is just too much of a pretty boy for me. And too lanky. Rydell, as written, has more of a "manly" build, y'know? Mr. Hartnett definitely does resemble "a young TLJ" but not in ways that count, for me.

I just saw "Grandma's Boy" and was reminded how how charming Linda Cardellini is.


She's a good age for Cayce. I think she'd be good to show Cayce's awkwardness (See Freaks and Geeks). She's also not too old or young.

She looks so pretty with lighter-colored hair. I liked her in Legally Blonde. She had the funkiest perm. It reminded me of myself in the 7th grade.

Linda Cardellini is pretty and all, but she is almost the exact opposite of my internal image of Cayce. She looks too well fed and too blond, at least in that picture.

But hey, I don't think the actors are that important, as long as they can act.

Some super-dedicated, super-bored wgb-er should scan the various casting threads and make a poll of all the choices discussed

linda cardellini, i like her generally but agree with colin, just doesn't fit the specs i think. though re the blond thing, didn't she play velma in scooby doo? she had black hair there which looked good.

and chloe sevigny: don't get the point of her really. always in the mags, but what does she do? dark haired twins? maybe the veronicas?

Nope, Bigend has to be played by Tom Cruise, whose teeth seem to be ever expanding in order to accomodate the role.

there's the cruise ref (mm is now with penelope cruz), another, in my opinion more european, set of teeth, and more physical oomph. and by the sound of things he's not a couch-jumper.

I think Tom's scarier than Matthew these days, but you can have Matthew for Bigend, I guess. He might could pull it off, if he keeps his wig on straight. Neither of 'em could swing the accent, ennyhoo.

you know i edited myself (was gonna say "more likely to play the bongos than jump on a couch")(actually think it was "smoke a joint and play the bongos"). agree entirely on the accent.
