So did Mr. Brown send Milgrim out to buy drugs so that he could score a Glock and address his fantom gun syndrome?
The Glock being Mr. Brown's drug? Any thoughts? |

Seemed like it to me.

Brown figured any serious drug dealer (or con artist pretending to be a drug dealer) would be packing. He was just using Milgrim as bait.
I imagine any gun would have been better than none, but the fact that it was a Glock was particularly delightful. |

I think that, beneath the scrolling digits of the page-text matrix (slap me for the matrix reference but please don't bruise the tongue in my cheek, 'k?), a more intriguing question is:
when Gib started on this scene, did he know that scoring a gun was what he had in mind? Or did he just have Brown have Milgrim pursue a street drug deal to see what possibilities it opened up? |

Given just how unhappy Brown was without a gun, the only question was really how long it would take him to get one. I assumed he would acquire one through channels when he arrived in Van. But the way he did it was so much better (and more characteristic) than going to a "source".

the manner of his aquiring the gun is a means of further undermining brown's credibility to the reader. he is this super secret agent, who mocks his subordinates for being stupid, while at the same time being mocked his turn by his superiors.
