Taking the image data at face value:
An "open" NETGEAR WiFi access point (default settings Username= admin Password= password ?) connected using a Windows XP system. According to the Latitude and Longitude displayed, approx N51:39:10 W03:02:51, this would seem to have been taken in Cwmbran in South Wales. This seems plausible, as I recall Wales being mentioned in some other posting by Bictaker. According to the Exif meta data: Date/Time Original : 2006:07:21 06:01:26 Create Date : 2006:07:21 06:01:26 Shouldn't the sky have been been a bit lighter at 6am in July 2006 at this latitude (similar to that of London)? Make : FUJIFILM Camera Model Name : FinePix A500 "Honestly, Officer, Windows XP tries to automatically connect to the strongest WiFi signal by default - how can you prove, beyond reasonable doubt, that I was not trying to connect to BlueAntCmbram ?" How much of this is true, how much is "puro" disinformation ? |

The new iPod touch comes with .11b and g WiFi and a copy of Apple's safari web browser. What is that going to do to wardriving?
After all, a dude sitting in a car outside your house with a laptop up and running is going to be fairly obvious - but what about the chap sitting at the bus stop over the road with his portable music device? Going to be an interesting few months when that baby hits the streets... best, Chris H |
