This has been a popular trope I think, the whole "voice built from audio shards", I think Hiz Gibzness has made reference to things like it in other books, and I've seen it, or things like it, in fantasy and sci-fi novels.

So....anybody know if one really exists?

I did a quick Google for this on the board, but the search mostly seemed to reveal folks dickering about if the Etruscan or theEtruscan, or some such, was a Hydra head. So, if I missed a relevant thread, lemme know.

Otherwise, any of the board media\computar types know if something like the audio-collage voice could be built up? Or, better yet, if you could assemble a bunch of phoneme mapping software and audio sample libraries to create such an effect in 'real time'?

I don't see any reason it's not possible technically.
