Let me see if I remember correctly: Tally Isham is a major star in the *background* of Neuromancer. Ditto in Count Zero. I hardly see how she even has to be in the movie except as part of the information-dense background-noise...

...and this is exactly why I should be given the part, no?

Ok, I'm a newbie and I probabily should just sit and read a lot before posting something, but as everybody here I have painted in my mind every face of every character of the Trilogy, and when I read about finding a "real" Tally Isham, the first "real" face that came to me was Paris Hilton. Ok, she should need a brain, but think about it: she lives "by the pool", she's got any money problem, she travels only in private jets, she lives partying all time and an enormous quantity of people thinks how cool should be to live her life... Do you really think that if it was possible she shoudn't be already wired?

For me, Tally Isham, is as memorable as the main protagonists. She's more an icon of the emerging future Gibson portrayed than Case or Bigend or any of 'em.
She's the overarching face of media saturation.

I'd say Paris is a good choice for Tally. Maybe not the best choice, but I can see how it could happen. She has charisma, has "reality" television experience, is envied by a large number of people for her money and connections, and will be hungry for attention well into old age. Perfect.

Good choice. But I don't think we would have to find someone 20 years younger because she appears only once in person - at the end of Count Zero, where she looks at Angie and sees her as the one that might replace her.

I know I wouldn't even toy with the idea of it.
Alizée is the French translation of Britney. The same product with a slightly altered visual.
Describing her as magical, suffused with supernatural pop charm.
She's just a blank. And already a hasbeen.
Does she live in a doublewide too? Has she shaved he head yet? Does she not wear underpants? I bet not. You French couldn't begin to make the sordid mess of a pop star that we can! Two words: Michael Jackson.

and i say that because she's gorgeous, clever (she's a member of mensa) and she's aged well.
though we'd need to find someone 15-20 years younger of course.
Not crazy would be good too.

I think she is dense background noise, come to think of it.

Now, that's an impressive board hiatus.
