Why, he's Gary Oldman, of course.
Case in bed, after an evening with Molly.

Case at Cheap Hotel

Case, twenty years after he's re-established his drug habit.

The last picture is the only one that really said "Case" to me. In the rest he looked too well fed.

Not sharp enough to be Case. Needs more edge.

I seem to have him much older than the rest of you. The narrative implies that he has a lot of background.

My picture of him is a mix of Kevin Costner and Paul Weller

I always imagined Case being young, but well used. Was road hard, and put away wet. Young but old...

James Franco anyone?

Hmmph, I dislike Adrian Brody for the simple fact that he now thinks he's a fashion model for italian suits. And I don't think he looks like Case.

Brody's way too fragile-looking to be Case.

Of course, if cpunk movie casting continues as-is, the part would be played by Keanu Reeves.

I base my Case on Brody's performance in the movie LOVE THE HARD WAY and the fact he can actually ACT, unlike 98% of the rest of famous Hollywood faces. Too fragile? Perhaps we should just combine Case with Molly and Hideo and have Roland Kickinger (the guy who played a young Arnold Schwarzenegger in that recent A&E biopic) play him, and have him battling Rastafarian milkshakes on Mars in a deadly search for the ancient alien artifacts alluded to in coded messages on the back of US dollar bills with only the schizophrenically induced voice of Wintermute to guide him. Wink

Brody's still too young for my view. But, interestingly, he's not too far from my mental picture of Count Zero.

In pursuit of a picture of Case, let me ask you - how old is he?

page 5 of my copy of Neuromancer clearly states: "Case was twenty-four. At twenty-two, he'd been a cowboy, a rustler, one of the best in the Sprawl." Brody is 32, but one of those people who looks younger than he really is. Case is also a heavy stimulant addict. If you've ever seen pictures of what meth users look like after a few years of hardcore use, then it makes sense to picture him as being somewhat older looking. Pulled through the shit grinder maybe. But it's the future, so maybe the designer pharmaceuticals are kinder to the flesh.

I figure Molly is around the same age, slightly older than Case. MLO takes place about 15 years after the events of Neuromancer, which would make her at least 40 years old, old enough to notice she's not young anymore, as Kumiko does.

Actually, I agree with this pick b/c it's kinda fitting.

If you don't recognize Jesse Bradford, he was in Hackers as script kiddy Joey Pardella.

Hey, Keanu did Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure, then became this beyond imagination hacker/superhero, then Jesse has a fair shot.

I mean, come on now, Hackers?

I wouldn't want to go out like that :P
