Simple fact is Mainstream media will always use dirty tactics, its about Marketing, its about Demographics and it'll always be about PROFIT. Welcome to hyper-capitalism. Xbox Live is the new MTV. Hollywood is no different to microsoft. Creative Industries all died a long time ago.

First, though, let's bitch at you for being so unproductive.

my unproductiveness is due to the fact that I'm waiting on the tools needed to produce something you guys would be interested. Doesn't mean I'm not working on it though, I was story boarding not long ago. I've been planning things for the most part and yeah i'm aware my annual April Fools joke was non-existent this year, I think its not worth doing because I've been having too many issues with my website atm. I'll be resolving that soon hopefully. First off the ball however is to design the cast of characters, once they are established its onto sprite and then onto making the levels (aka the backgrounds). Cutscenes will come after that and then the sound, VAs ect ect, lastly the programming though I'll have something done as the project is progressing. The prolouge I've been working on is the main priority - then Chiba city, once those are finished Milestone 1 gets a big tick and its onto the juicy bits of the Shopping Expedition chapter where we get a full dosage of Cyberspace.

It's way different, Microsoft operates on far more sound busniess plans than Hollywood. Hell, they have business plans. Hollywood just jumps into bed with the latest it boy or girl and hopes divination and marketing takes care of the details. Bill gates is a mastermind, he;s not the richest man in the world for nothing. About all they have in common is a kind of monopoly on an industry. But Microsoft continues to try and grow while Hollywood continues to harvest its withered bones for the last lick of fresh marrow.

EA = Electronic Arts (I think). If I recall correctly, they are best known for producing new, basically identical football video games every year (?), and buying small game studios and pushing out crappy versions/sequels of what may once have been a good idea. But I don't follow the gaming industry, so I'm not sure.

That's kind of monolithic, isn't it? I'm no fan of theirs, but no one is evil all the time.

Microsoft's model is the penultimate Hollywood model.. Bill lifted Walt Disney's "business plan", ie: Jacking an army of temp workers over intellectual property rights, before he even thought to jack his software model from the Xerox 5100. pure, concentrated evIl.

Booger with the informed win thats exactly my point. Colin was totally correct about EA, only that they are trying to establish a monopoly over the industry using what they call the "city state" business plan or as the rest of the industry calls it "ALL YOUR BASE BELONGING TO US!" plan (basically a monopoly).

that bit at the end with Rachel Bilson is interesting since I have no doubts Kahn would see her as Linda Lee. I wouldn't though :P This Neuromancer still feels like its an MTV movie. *sigh* Also the article is incorrect in suggesting that Gibson has any control over the casting.
