seems that global warming is a security risk.

Al Gore's now book

looks ineresting but breaks the focus

he should be talking more about global warming but he's trying to get people to be intelligent and rational... talk about a long shot.

Unfortunately there's not much point talking about global warming if we're not being intelligent and rational Frown

Take a look at today's Financial Times. There is an article about unforseen consequences when taking action. It's not specifically about global warming, but some of the examples they use relate to it.
I would write about it more in depth, but I had to get out of the house to find Wi-Fi, and the authors of the article do an excellent job on their own. Also, I can't figure out how to link to it without haveing to pay.

There's also no point in talking about it if we've passed the point of no return.

In my opinion, we have. That's why we're allowed to speak freely about it: there's nothing we can do.

Our only option for species survival would be planetary migration.

Have you notice a preponderance of millionaires willing to build rocket ships lately?

Yeah, me too.

We po' folk is fucked

Welllll, I've been thinking about making some "Mad Max" gear anyhow. Maybe I'll never have to make that awful choice between adult diapers and suicide.

Problem with reading threads like this it distorts your sense of reality.

World emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide increased three times faster after 2000 than in the 1990s

hope is for dreamers

sorry about the 5 posts in a row but this is

the answer

these guys set up and grow algae using the pollution from factories.

they make fuel out of pollution.

they could probably do it at coal fired electric stations!

Well, that's better than whatever else-based you may've been thinking.

But, no, according to the Japanese, there's more than enough whales to supply fuel well into the next millenium.

you know as far as I can tell biowillie doesnt pollute much less when its burned. Even if it does smell like french fries. Also when daryl hannnah drinks some of her biogas it doesn't actually prove it burns any cleaner.

Still that's not really the point. When you burn gas you're taking carbon that's in storage, already sequestered, and spewing it to the air. When you burn biogas you're burning carbon that was PULLED OUT of the air by a plant. Even though you're still polluting it's 50% better than gsa or ail.

To get the 100% you have to do something like solar panels on the roof to charge an electric vehicle...

The idea of biogas is not to limit pollution, but to have a replenishable alternative to oil.
