A rather simple hack for getting into some traffic signs was posted fairly prominently, I think it was on Boing Boing, not too long ago. I would guess that's what's behind the sudden popularity of sign hijacking.

And some people still think that media violence doesn't inspire real violence.

This is an easy crime to solve.

Follow the Cheetos stains and twenty siders back to his house, ask his mom to open the basement and your have you man.

British comedian Stephen Fry used his time while stuck in an elevator in London to blog about the ordeal to his online fans. The funnyman was on his way to a meeting at the top of the city's 33-storey Centre Point Tower on Tuesday when an electrical fault brought the device to a halt, leaving all the passengers trapped.

So Fry took to his internet-ready cellphone to post comments about his situation on his Twitter blog, giving his Internet companions live updates.

Fry's first post read, "Ok. This is now mad. I am stuck in a lift on the 26th floor of Centre Point. Hell's teeth. We could be here for hours. A**e, poo and widdle."

He followed that message up with another moments later: "This is getting boring. Morale still high. Hopes of early night dashed. Engineers on their way in 20 minutes apparently."

While the group waited for help, Fry gathered everyone together for a photo, which he also posted on the internet.

After 30 minutes in the confined space, Fry was rescued, prompting him to post a final update: "We're free! Paramount Club had champagne for us at the bottom. I'm allergic, but nice thought."

He later went on to pay tribute to his fellow online bloggers for their messages of support during his ordeal: "Slept heavily after the Fry lift incident. Another thank you to all those who kept the Blitz spirit alive."

a-rod was a juicer?

shocker...really. but with this and the Phelps bong 'controversy' I am left to wonder why we are holding athletes to this standard but not other so-called role models. Al Gore admitted to pot smoking, Bush was a boozer, actors are regularly expected to have some sort of chemical addiction. Why do we feel that athletes should be so pure?

Ahem... Bush was also a cokehead.

I would argue that these people are not role models. I think that the idea of these celebrity role-models is an illusion that old people make up to explain how young people work becuase they forgot they were young.

Kids don't go out and do coke or drink becuase of peer pressure, or becuase an athelte does it, or for any other of the bullshit reasons adults construct to belie the central desire for experimentations with self and consciousness.

o say nothing of the fact that today's youth are far hipper, snarkier and plugged in to pop-cultural dissent to be wooed by such an antiquated idea as a celebrity role model.

It's a construct. These things don't really exist. If people are worried about negative role models for their kids, they should look in the fucking mirror.

The capacity for self delusion in this country is priceless.
