This is terribly non PC, but the idea of congregants starting to shoot each other in churches 'cuz God told them so, makes me grin.

Proof?

And did he legally acquire?

I did say most likely, but the opinion is based on my knowledge of the liscense to carry a concealed weapon. I don't think they make allowances for shooting sprees. There's also a part where you can't have it in an establishment that serves beer, wine or spirits, and I bet there was wine in that place.

I am sure there are more points, but those two alone would negate any legality as reguards to the purchase, ownership and transport of the offending weapon.

Well, just to be contrary, there were a couple of those in Japan. The one in particular I remember happened in an elementary school, I think.

It seems like you're saying that illegality of obtaining, concealing/carrying the firearm is only established after the crime is committed, right? At the purchase of the weapon (assuming he bought it legally), how would it have been proven he wasn't gonna go crazy with it?

we roll crazy out here. you aussies think you got screwy locked down, but brother, we got drive-thru liquor & gun stores.

it depends on how the guy chose to obtain his weapon. The gun stores and wal mart try and do background checks, but Lith....have you ever been to a gun show?

Carnival, with bullets.

that's the right we shouldn't have, right there. But we still do.

My first thought at this thread's title: A female wigber shot someone?!

Can't recall where, years ago, first read the phrase 'a reality where everybody goes around armed, even to church'.
Some time later, a rash of armed robberies to church attendees during mass, happening in this city, made me feel like we'd already crossed the threshold.
And now this is surreal. 'God aimed, she shot?' Weird.

We get the odd gunshow. But it's at the Showgrounds, and it's a bitch to get in. Probably need a shooter's licence, which is hard enough to get in itself.

Of course, you basically have to be anal-probed to get a pistol or anything semi- or fully-auto.

"I prayed for the Holy Spirit to guide me". That's all very well, but why did she pray for Alice Cooper to guide her during make-up?

lol - nice!

Touche on the stabbings thing... though the school bus thing today makes it three multiple shootings in a week, whereas Manson goes back decades.

Meh, let's not even get into gun control arguments - but with 3 in a week, surely there are some people somewhere who are getting itchy to pry some guns from some cold, dead hands?
