Katie Couric Bashes Bush Admin, Calls Pick Cronyism

KATIE COURIC: The Bush administration has been hit recently with allegations of cronyism. Do you think this is going to feed into that?
Whoa, that is a new record for Katie. Less than 10 minutes has passed since the announcement and she bashes the Bush administration AND the nominee in one question.

Link and Video

And..... I see the rest of the Democrats got their Talking Points too. Gezzz That did not take long.

COURIC: (NBC) The Bush administration has been hit with cronyism.

WILLIAMS: (NPR) Is this a crony-like appointment?

EASTON: (Boston Globe) Democrats will raise the issue of cronyism.

HARWOOD: (WSJ) This whole issue the Democrats are pressing about cronyism.

ROBERTS: (CBS News) This appears to be cronyism.

O'DONNELL: (NBC News) Most would say that it is cronyism.

MORAN: (ABC News) What do you say when people say that's definitional cronyism?

DOUGLASS: (ABC News) She might be a crony.

Hey 'Liberals' - the really intriguing part is that the right-wing blogosphere seems to be working from the same 'talking points':

Damn those liberals and their vast conspiracy!

Did you guys watch that frontline piece on torture I posted? Because that's the only talking point I'm focused on. I love how those enlisted chumps take the fall and do hard time. Oh you better believe I'm voting.... as usual.

Miers withdraws as nominee.

quote:
In a letter confirming her decision to withdraw from the nomination process, Ms Miers wrote that continuing to seek Senate approval would prove to be a burden on the White House.

It would not be in the interests of the US to reveal details of her work within the White House, she added.

Mr Bush praised Ms Miers for her decision, which he said was motivated by a desire not to allow Senators access to confidential White House documents.

Nothing like open government to improve democracy.

Yes. While I revel in the fact that Bush has been made to look a fool again, I realise that Miers will probably be infinitely preferable to the next nominee.
