I don't mind him so much but he isn't the sort of person the Academy would choose if they hadn't kept seeing a consistent ratings dip in the last five years.

It's a little bit disheartening, the end of an era, when you see the Oscars turn into the MTV Movie Awards.

That said, the Academy is basically made up of older, more conservative types and I doubt we'll see Timberlake.

Cronenberg should do it. Or David Lynch.

He's actually a good actor.
Blew my mind, too.

Cronenberg maybe, but could you imagine how long it would take Lynch to even begin to say hello? My god that man redefines long-winded.
For example....

David Lynch would just show thirteen minutes worth of stills of a chicken anatomy as an intro.

How the fuck else do you make it in a boy band?

Did you mistake him for a singer?

Ah, I remember watching that DVD extra, mesmerized.
'Is he going to show that in real-time?'
'Wait, I'm sure he'll show some weird detail, any moment now...'

Russian has apparently invaded Georgia.

Sorry if this has been posted before: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/08/08/georgia.osse...html?eref=rss_latest

Or perhaps it isn't an invasion. It sounds like one though.

Whoa, indeed.

Computer hackers could target pacemaker patients in deadly new form of 'cyber attack'
quote:
Doctors are increasingly using wireless pacemakers to monitor the regulation of patients' heartbeats, and can even adjust the settings remotely.

But earlier this year a team of US scientists using a radio signal were able to simulate interference with the devices and claimed that, in theory, hijackers could shut them down or deliver potentially lethal electric shocks to millions of heart patients. [...]

Although irresponsible attacks on pacemakers may seem unlikely, Dr Denning points out that in 2007 hackers posted flashing images to the Epilepsy Foundation's website - apparently with the aim of triggering attacks in people visiting the site.

It's a brave new world.

And here I was writing a bid prop....

but:
quote:
The work would be carried out through April 19, 2009, according to the Office of Administration request for contractors' proposals, which was dated June 20.

I probably couldn't mail it in time.

I don't get it.

I don't understand what happened, why, or our reaction to it.

Can't.

Who did what now?
